Frequently asked questions

What is premier soccer?
Premier soccer is more competitive than recreational soccer. Playing time is not
guaranteed. Players have played soccer for a number of years. Trainers are often
paid with assistance from parent coaches.

How do I know if my child is prepared to play premier?
If your child loves the game, has been one of the top players on his or her recreational team, and would like to compete at a higher level—he or she will benefit from competitive or premier soccer.

What is the cost of premier?

Cost varies from team to team, but is not less than $200-300 per season.  This cost includes training, player registration fees and tournament and league fees.

Where do the premier teams play?
Most premier teams play league in Overland Park, KS through the Premiership and Heartland Soccer Association.  Other teams may travel to Salina or Manhattan, KS. Tournaments may be played throughout the Midwest. Currently Sunflower Soccer is providing home and away opportunities with Manhattan and the Wildcat Soccer League.
